THrowing Sculptures
2010, h. app. 45 cm., thrown & slipcast earthenware, one off sculptures
Throwing Sculptures are made to be thrown, and most importantly broken in order to become functional objects. The set of enameled objects are initially fixed in a solidified form, however a deliberate smash onto the floor allows each piece to break away and go solo, resulting in a cup, saucer and candlestick holder that are ready for use. Every chip and crack helps to transform the pieces into intriguing works of art. Text Sophie Burton
