Burn To Tell
2014, h. 54 cm, slipcast stoneware, limited edition 24 p. candle holder
The first Burn to Tell was born in 2014 as a hand-crafted prototype. The anthropomorphic shape does not directly suggest a candlestick. This beautiful sculpted arm first appears as a decorative object; it begins to live when we replace fingers with candles. Depending on which fingers you remove ( or not ), the message can be sarcastic, suggestive or rebellious and the point becomes more and more obvious when the candles are burnt out. Text Inge Vranken
